Shecky's Short:
Fireworks Safety Rules
July 2, 2009
When we see fireworks, we say, “oooh, ahhh, ohh!” If you’re planning on shooting off your own this weekend, here are some fireworks handling rules from the National Council on Fireworks Safety, and you won’t be saying, “Ouch! Ouch! Ouch,” after you fire them off. (1) Do use fireworks outdoors. (2) Don’t let them off inside. (3) Do keep a bucket of water and a working hose near-by. (4) Do obey local fireworks laws. (5) Don’t re-light a “dud” firework. Wait 20 minutes, and then soak it in a bucket of water. (6) Don’t alter or combine fireworks. (7) Do have a designated shooter. (8) Don’t allow children under the age of 12 to use fireworks. For more fireworks safety rules and information on fireworks themselves, visit the Council’s site.
