I have been attending Shecky’s for several years both in the Spring and in the Fall. D’Marie is my favorite repeat vendor and I always look to see what new and exciting products this company has to offer. I will be attending this year again to refurbish my Wine Slushy, Chips and Dip supply from D’Marie. I’m so very excited.

I’m so excited about going to the Shecky’s even for the 2nd time this year. I’m even considering being a vendor for the next one. I don’t see that many lingerie vendors there and that is the ultimate way to look and feel sexy.

The wine slushy vendor is my favorite so far and I’m buying 3 of them this time!

    Hi Ladies,

This will be my first GNO experience and I will be there as a vendor. I’ve heard so many great things and now I will get to experience the fun. If you are looking for something different make sure you stop by my booth. You can also stop by my boutique for a preview of some of the fall/winter items I will have at Shecky’s. I’ve been to a lot of retail shows in Vegas, New York, Dallas and Atlanta and purchased some AWESOME pieces from designers and vendors in the USA and overseas. Don’t miss out! I only purchased 6 of each piece and the clothing manufacturers run out of stock quickly. See you DIVAs soon!

The Vendors always charge double the price of an item…but you have some vendors who are honest.

  • Ripped off by vendor last year:

I also won’t be back this year. I had an unfortunate experience where a vendor told me a necklace cost a certain price, then charged me almost twice as much (check those receipts, ladies!). “Luckily” I noticed while I was standing right there, but after the card had been put through. The vendor said she didn’t have the ability to issue a credit, so I had to take the necklace or else talk to some obscure management member sometime in the next week. I didn’t want the necklace so I left it — but (surprise, surprise) I never received the credit for the necklace because no one could authorize a refund.
To credit Shecky’s, at least management called back. But to total disgrace of Shecky’s, they were ineffective and I feel like I was ripped off BIG TIME.
Ladies night out? Not at Shecky’s.

    1. Michelle:

Perhaps there was a misunderstanding in that the sales rep could not issue the refund. It does have to come from the company and they may not have followed through with the refund. Transactions are recorded and vendors know customers can do ‘charge backs’ so there is no point in a vendor trying to rip a customer off, it only hurts their company. I am a returning Shecky’s customer and this year a vendor. I enjoy the experience from both sides of the table!

To the person who was told by a vendor that they “couldn’t” issue a credit: that’s a bold-faced lie, as I’m sure you guessed. Anyone who has a contract with a company to TAKE credit cards also has the ability to ask that company to issue a refund or cancel a sale. I know this b/c I have a home-based business and I take credit cards.

It’s possible that Shecky’s was processing cards FOR the vendors (this happens at some shows) but in that case *they* should have been able to correct it for you after confirming with the vendor that you didn’t take receipt of the item.

Even if you misheard or misunderstood the cost (that is, even if it was YOUR error and NOT hers) it would have been good customer service to refund your money. Period.

At the very least, I hope you protested the charge with your credit card company – they should back you on this, though you might need documentation. You can also contact the BBB to file a report – at least there’ll be some record of the complaint. I would let both the vendor and Shecky’s know that you’ve done so also.

In short, don’t settle for being ripped off….because if she did it to you, she did it to a bunch of other people too… you’re likely not alone… and only when people speak up do situations like this actually stop happening.

I’m sorry but I don’t think I will be attending another GNO event in DC. I had fun the first couple of years but the last two events were frustrating. There were too many people for a venue so small. I could barely move around, had to fight to even get to the front of counters and view the wares and didn’t buy much because I couldn’t get the sellers’ attention. Also, I was offended by the tactics of the fertility booth clinic, who asked me my age and then told me I was unlikely to conceive a child naturally at this point in life. I sincerely doubt a 20 something sales rep has the medical expertise to make statements like that one.
