How did you become a designer?
I always wanted to wear something to parties and special occasions that fit well into the American style but had that Indian influence. When I never found anything like it, I decided to design my first top, “Green Envy.” To my surprise, everyone loved it and wanted me to design more! That's how I became a designer, and Lishkara was born!
What’s your inspiration?
Magnificent, colorful, exquisite sparkling India! Which is where the name Lishkara comes from—it means “sparkle.”
What’s your hometown?
New York, NY
If you had to pick a favorite design from your collection, what would it be?
“Green Envy” would be the winner! It's my first design and the reason why Lishkara was made.
What are you wearing right now? (Pajamas are OK.)
