Shecky’s – Designer Lounge

How did you become a designer?
I learned how to enamel from my mom who used to do it in larger scale, for wall pieces. I always wanted to be a part of it when she was selling something, so I taught myself how to make jewelry. It started with beading, and now I almost solely do the enamel work.

I have drawn on my experiences from when I worked at Bergdorf Goodman, Chloe and Saks to learn the retail/wholesale trade, as well as my own design sense to create an interesting, fresh product.

What’s your inspiration?
Travel, bold colors and lines, and creating something I want to wear.

What’s your hometown?
El Paso, TX

If you had to pick a favorite design from your collection, what would it be and why?
Right now I can't stop wearing my small stars (in three’s) the iron cross and the cutout, in white, copper, ivory and gray color palettes, with gold chains.

What are you wearing right now?
Chuck Taylors, black J Brand skinny jeans, gray V-neck tee, my jewelry! (in gold tones)
