Buzzed Bites: Delicious Beer-Spiked Dishes
It’s no secret that we here at Shecky’s occasionally like our alcohol out of the glass and cooked straight into a delicious recipe, and with Oktoberfest celebrations popping up all over the country this week, we knew exactly what the scrumptious subject of our next spiked bites round-up just had to be: beer! Whether battered, baked, basted or broiled, food simply tastes better with a little bit of brew mixed right in, from sensational savory options like brew-based macaroni ‘n’ cheese and crock pot chicken, to sweet treats like lager-laden cookies and pumpkin ale bread. So go on, let a little bit of your favorite stout pour onto your mac ‘n’ cheese while you’re cooking. Trust us, you’ll be shouting “three cheers to beer!” in no time!

Beer Cheese Soup

Cheese? Good. Soup? Good. Beer. Gooood! Traditional beer cheese soup always pops up in pots all over this time of year, but add a little of delicious interest to the classic by topping a three cheese and wheat beer soup base with red peppers and crispy, smoky bacon at the finish, like in this Beer Cheese Soup by How Sweet It Is. The rich, creamy soup is a tad high maintenance—it’ll need a lot of spoonin’ to keep it smooth—but once you get a spoonful (or a bread dunk, whatever you’re into!) of this cheesy, brew-y goodness on a chilly fall day, it’ll be well worth all of that stirring!
