30 Rock

If you want a lighter party theme, go for a laugh-filled show like Tina Fey’s veteran comedy “30 Rock,” which is nominated for Best Comedy at the Emmys Sunday night. Stock up on lots o’ lemons, NBC paraphernalia and some Teamster Subs for a bash that the “TGS with Tracy Jordan” crew would be proud of!

Decor: Along with dressing up as your favorite character like blazer-boasting NBC page Kenneth, you can put up signs around your pad touting “What’s Your Favorite 30 Rock Quote?” complete with markers so that guests can write their most beloved quips from Lemon & co. (“I love this cornbread so much I wanna take it back behind the middle school and get it pregnant”). Throw some rubber chickens scratch ‘n’ sniffs (preferably of your favorite meal!) around, slap a picture of Jack Donaghy on the microwave and you’re ready to go!

Drinks: Pay homage to the show’s heroine with some lemon-flavored libations, like a Lemon Drop, or if you’re a wine lover, pour out some Liz Lemon-approved Pinot Grigio. You can shake up a themed ‘tail like this “Over 30 Rocks,” mixing up 2 oz. of Ron Abuelo Añejo, juice of 1/2 lime, 1 teaspoon maraschino liqueur, 1 teaspoon grapefruit juice with ice and straining over crushed ice in a rocks glass, garnished with a maraschino cherry.

Dishes: Lay out a buffet-style feast to resemble an on-set grub table full of “30 Rock”-themed fare like Blueberry Muffin Tops, Mystic Pizza, “Sabor De Soledad” Cheese Puffs, Teamster Sub sandwiches, “mind grapes” and hot dogs (“I want ALL the hot dogs please!”). A kooky spread, sure, but would you expect anything less from “30 Rock”?
