Saranac Shandy

Brits have been mixing beer and lemonade to create lip smacking shandies for years, so what’s taking us Yanks so long to get in on the fun? Thankfully, you can explore this luscious libation in the form of Saranac Shandy from F.X. Matt Brewing Company in New York. This seasonal treat stands out from the pack because it’s made with lager and real lemonade from actual lemons. No artificial fluff here—this puckering brew is so clear, light, and refreshing that you may just forget you’re sipping on beer. With blazing humidity is in the air, you’ll want something to put it in its place, and that’s why we’re still swooning.

Sure, Blue Moon is “Colorado-bred,” because it is made by Miller-Coors, one of the two robber barons of the brewing industry in this country. There are much, much better examples of this style out there, and this hardly resembles a true Belgian.
