It’s not all that complicated, we suppose. They do have a lot in common—they’re both Canadian, they’re both rockers, they both make awful music that you can’t get out of your head for days—but when we heard news that the punk-lite pop princess and the Nickelback frontman were engaged, it completely caught us off-guard, if simply for the fact that we didn’t even know they were dating! Lavigne has prior experience marrying Canadian rockers—her ex-hubby is Sum 41 frontman Deryk Whibley—but let’s hope this marriage turns out better than her last one!
