6 Tips to Make You a Master Thrift Shopper

Get Clothes Tailored

If you try on a pair of pants that you absolutely love but find that the inseam isn’t quite right or the length is a bit off, don’t worry! Hem’s can be let out and inseams can be taken in. Tailors are a vintage shopper’s best friend. Many vintage items will have super bulky shoulder pads, or the cut might be a little too old fashioned, but with a needle and thread or a quick trip to the tailor these purchases can be customized to fit you just right. Don’t let a loose fit deter you from bringing home an amazing find!

Normally I don’t go to thrift stores but I have been to a few in La jolla, Pb and hillcrest around San Diego. Sometimes you can find great buys. I have some rules when buying thrift clothes like no underwears or garmets or certain hats. I’ve read that some items will still care certain pest/bacteria after you wash it. I know someone who said she got crabs from wearing some else bathing suit. I believe her she was only 13 a the time. So you have to careful.
