It’s National Rum Day and you know exactly how we’re celebrating. No, not by stirring up yet another mojito (although that’s a pretty good way to get the party started too!) —we’re talking about baking! Rum tastes just as delicious baked into a warm treat as it does shaken up in a cold cocktail, so to celebrate the boozy holiday, we’re spiking up some of our favorite sweets like ice cream sundaes, cupcakes, popsicles, even cannoli! These drunken desserts will be perfect to serve at all of your end-of-summer soirees, so grab your baking mitts, a bottle (or two!) of Malibu and start celebrating!

Bananas Foster Popsicles
Love Bananas Foster? Then you’ll absolutely adore these Bananas Foster Popsicles from Snappy Gourmet, which takes all the flavors you know and love from the N’awlins-style banana/ice cream/rum sauce dessert and freezes it into a scrumptious, summer-ready popsicle. Add bananas, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon to a bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals until the bananas are soft (you can also cook them stove top if you prefer). Let the mixture cool, then add it to a blender with Greek yogurt, milk, vanilla and rum extract. Pour the blended mixture into your fave popsicle mold and freeze for a few hours or until solid. Pop the pops out of the mold and serve them to your guests—they’ll love this frozen take on your favorite treat just as much as you do!
