At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Dara Jones, who made her first Olympic appearance in 1984, became the oldest swimmer to compete in the Olympics at age 41. In total, Dara has competed in give Olympic games (the first Olympic swimmer to ever complete such a feat!) and has won 12 Olympic medals, including four gold. Today, Dara continues to act as a role model to older athletes, encouraging them to continue to pursue their dreams and goals no matter who tells them they can’t. She is an author, ESPY award winner, commentator and the first athlete to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition!
