Go For The Gold: Throw Your Own Olympics Viewing Party
Finally, the most buzz-worthy weeks of summer are here—the 2012 Summer Olympics! Not only do we have to thank the games for letting us see sexy Speedo-sporting men compete for blinging medals, but these next two weeks are going to be filled with parties, cheering and, of course, some serious American pride! From festive decorations to fun themed treats to even gold, silver and bronze cocktails, we’ve mapped out the perfect way for you to host an outrageously fun Olympics viewing party, whether you want to host a big opening ceremony bash this Friday or simply have friends over to cheer on the USA in truly festive fashion!

Olympic Rings & Medals Decor

With such internationally known symbols as the five Olympic rings or the gold medal, it would be a crime to exclude these iconic symbols from your party! These DIY Olympic Rings Table Centerpiece and Gold Medal Plates from Hostess with the Mostess are the perfect way to set the mood for an outrageous Olympic motif. Simply purchase colored paper plates ($4.99/20 at partycity.com) in red, blue, green, yellow, black and gold. Create the centerpiece mirroring the Olympics insignia by attaching red, blue, green, yellow and black plates to dowels, place the other end of the dowel in a container and fill the container with sand to weigh down the poles. To turn the gold plates into adorable DIY medals, simply punch a hole near the top edge of the plate and string a blue ribbon through. Your party guests will be wowed!
