With July 4th “weekend” approaching, you’re bound to meet someone at one of the many backyard barbecues or beachside bashes you’ll be celebrating at, but what if you want to turn one of these steamy little summer romances into something more substantial? If you’re ready to turn that summertime spark into an eternal flame, check out these tips and tricks for making that summer lovin’ last through Labor Day and beyond!

Know what you’re getting yourself into.

Did you find yourself the perfect fling this summer?  Is he fun, spontaneous, and carefree?  Those are the qualities a girl looks for in a summer fling, but is this guy true boyfriend material?  You don’t want to play Sugar Ray’s “When It’s Over” all autumn long because your fling’s carefree spirit was thrown out the window once it hit commitment. That hint of protectiveness could be super cute now, but it could explode once titles are placed. Even if you think this man really has it all, there are other obstacles that can stand between you and a happy ending. Summer flings tend to happen because you suddenly are in the same vicinity of someone. If you’re planning on packing up once September hits and your time share ends, turning a fling into the real thing becomes infinitely more complicated. Proceeding forward knowing that you will need to overcome long distance is a bumpy road. Do the obstacles between you and your guy seem more daunting than dealing with the loss of your man? Just be sure of all you’re getting yourself into before taking on this transformation!
