Strawberry Boba Slushie

You may not have heard about Boba Tea yet, but after you get a sip of this spiked Strawberry Boba Slushie (on abeautifulmess.typepad.com), you won’t soon forget! This taste bud-tingling Taiwanese treat is great for those summer soirees that you want to spice up with an interesting cocktail. Start thinking about this drink early, and finish it quick—the best way to serve it is within 24 hours!
What You’ll Need: Tapioca balls, sugar syrup, 1 cup of sugar, frozen strawberries, ¾ cups water, vodka (to your preference) & plenty of crushed ice.
What You’ll Do:
1. You’re going to need to pre-soak the Tapioca balls (found at any Asian market or any tea house!) in sugar syrup for about 6-10 hours. Let them sit in a bowl after they have finished soaking, and set aside for later.
2. Put the berries, water, vodka and a cup of sugar into a blender. Pulse in the blender so that the mixture becomes crushed enough to sip through a straw, but not completely liquefied.
3. Take about 2 tablespoons of Boba balls from the bowl and place them at the bottom of a glass cup (so you can see your Boba balls!) and pour the blended mixture over them.
4. Put in an extra-wide straw so you and your fabulous friends can sip up the bottom Boba balls, allowing a sweet treat in every sip!
