The Drunk Diet’s Guide to a Beach Body in 5 Easy Steps
1. Stick with Vodka Soda
This carb-free cocktail will get you buzzed and bubbly without the empty calories. If you want to add flavor to the vodka-and-club combo, swap sugary fruit juices for a lemon or lime wedge, or a sprig of mint. Remember, the “beer gut” is not a myth!
2. Plan Your Hangovers in Advance
It’s your birth right to tie one on every now and then, but make sure you work that worse-for-the-wear morning after feeling into your workout schedule. Go out the night before you have planned a light workout day. Sweat just enough to get rid of some of the toxins—you don’t want to attempt a 7-mile run on hangover day!
3. All Carbs Before Noon
Eating your carbs in the morning will give you enough energy to get you through your day. This will also ensure that your body doesn’t process excess sugars close to bedtime when your metabolism shuts down to go to sleep.
4. Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself
Whether you ran a 5K or simply went to yoga, you should be proud of getting in any good exercise during summer’s hectic social scene, so wear that bikini with pride. You’ve earned it!
5. Take the Guilt Trip Once in a While
Cutting out all fried foods is an easy way to get in those skinny jeans or spandex from 1987. How do you do it? Rearrange the emotions that certain foods give you. French fries should no longer make you feel good; they should make you feel guilty. Don’t insert excuses into your brain as to why you must eat that KFC—just put the fork down!
