Unlike the Met Gala or Cannes, we usually see stylish celebs in more laid-back looks at the MTV Movie Awards. Hell, with awards like “Biggest Dirt Bag,” it’s not exactly surprising that stars use the annual award show to let their funky flag fly when it comes to their red carpet fashions, and this year was no exception. From awesomely styled edgy dresses to the borderline inappropriate styles that never should have left the runway, here are the good, the bad and the downright ugly of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards.

THE GOOD

Emma Watson

This Brood mini dress might be too edgy for the likes of Hermione Granger, but Emma Watson knows exactly how to work it. We’ve watched her style progress from child star-appropriate gowns to the more sophisticated frocks of a stylish young lady. The peplum panels on the skirt give this dress an excellent shape and it is perfectly paired with Tabitha Simmons black strappy sandals, making for one fab Movie Awards look!

Whatever your opinion is on whether Kristen Stewart’s dress worked or not, it absolutely ISN’T ‘grunge’. If anything, I’d say it’s in glam rock territory, but definitely not grunge.

I actually think Elizabeth Bank’s outfit was one of the best – original, sexy, interesting, and bold!
