Like the Met Gala, the Cannes Film Festival regularly draws a who’s who of fashion-loving Hollywood, with stylish A-list celebs descending on the swank Riviera resort town of Cannes, France this week with fabulous frocks and designers heels in tow. While cinephiles wait with baited breath to see Cannes’s yearly cinematic selections, fashionistas are dying to see what stylish stalwarts like Cate Blanchett, Angelina Jolie, Zoe Saldana and Michelle Williams will be wearing to the festival. Angelina Jolie can throw on a garbage bag and still look sickeningly chic, so it’s no surprise that when she glams up in designer garb and parades around Cannes, you’re in for some stunning style moments. From her first strut down Cannes’s red carpet, wearing a gorgeously gathered sunny satin Ungaro couture gown with Chopard yellow diamond earrings at the ’07 fest (left), to redefining maternity wear with an olive green Max Azria maternity gown in ’08, to showing off those lovely legs yet again in a sexy, high-slit nude chiffon Atelier Versace gown at last year’s festival (right), Jolie makes flawlessly fashionable look easy.
