Bye, Bye Boring Bridal: Untraditional Wedding Dresses
The modern bride is anything but traditional, so why should her wedding gown be? The virginal white dress resembling a perfectly iced pastry is a relic of the past (and who were we kidding anyway?), and in its wake, today’s wedding aisles are beginning to look more like the runways of Fashion Week with bursting colors, patterns, textures and even a few pant suits. The thoroughly modern bride is not afraid of raising the bar (or the hem!) of her big day bridal gear, so here are some out-there options for the fearlessly fashionable bride!

Pant Suits
Make sure you have some smelling salts on hand, because who knows how the mother of the bride will react when her daughter struts down the aisle in a pantsuit?! Every year, more and more designers like Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Theia and Sarah Jassir are swapping customary wedding gowns for chic bridal pantsuits in their collections. The trend encourages brides to altar tradition and express themselves in a more fashion-forward way on their big day. With budget-friendly options like Zara’s Jacquard Pattern Blazer ($89.90) and Cropped Jacquard Pattern Trousers ($59.90), this season, the groom won’t be the only one rocking a suit!

Post a CommentWell, you can’t go wrong with sparkle! And while I generally prefer length, especially with formal stuff, I must admit that second ‘short’ dress looks really retro-classy. It gives me a Grace Kelly vibe…
Nice

My cousin wore a white suit to her wedding in 2005 and looked fantastic.

I wore a cocktail-length red dress for my wedding last year, which I designed together with the seamstress who made it to measure, just for me! I had wanted to wear a red wedding dress since even before I had a fiance, but in the end I felt a gown was not only impractical (and more expensive), but also reminded me a little too much of the dress in Beetlejuice!
I am all in favor of creating your own best look, regardless of tradition!
#3 and #5 the dresses to the right are great for a nice wedding.
I love it, I want something different on my special day!
#3 & the one on the right in #4 are my faves!
Going to show this to my friend. Thanks.
