Girls Will Be Boys: Take on the Tomboy Trend

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Who would’ve thought two polar opposite styles would come out of one season?! While femme frocks and ladylike makeup were all over the runways this spring, on the opposite end of the spectrum were tomboy styles, with menswear-inspired looks at Paul Smith to Diane Von Furstenberg. If you’re thinking you’ll look too boyish, think again! You don’t have to be a not-so-girly girl to enjoy this trend—there are plenty of florals, pretty prints and poppy punches of color in these tomboy pieces to keep you looking femme and fabulous this spring!

SPORTY

While former-Kanye-gf Amber Rose is usually flaunting skintight garb, here she’s reppin’ the hip-hop-loving, sporty tomboy. Yes, she’s in a white-tee! The jean vest, Kanye-esque shades, low-fitting shorts, and hawt sneakers make it work effortlessly. However, if you can’t bear the thought of a shoe with no heel, try the Ash Wedged Canvas Trainer ($125, on farfetch.com). The heeled sneak comes in a vibrant orange color, with a curved toe made of rubber that continues onto the heel, adding a sporty, boyish statement to any outfit!

I GUESS THIS IS A GOOD APPROACH TO ALLOW THE TOMBOY TO STILL LOOK A LITTLE GIRLY BUT WITH A MASCULINE DESIGN. LOOK OUT LADIES WE CAN WEAR THEI STUFF AND STILL LOOK GOOOOOOD. YESSSSSS!!!

I have always loved dapper menswear, and it’s been a hot look on the ladies since Marlene Deitrich at least… (but I’ll confess, sometimes I just want to be shlubby at home, too)

Loving the kardashian cargo shorts with the basic v-neck and utilitarian belt. It would look great with the sneaker heel in a brown or green color!

RIGHT UP MY ALLEY, SOMETIMES BEING “GIRLY” EVERYDAY IS A LITTLE MUCH. BUT, THIS IS A GREAT LOOK FOR A SHOPPING DAY, OR WEEKENDS. GUYS LIKE SEEING GIRLS NOT SO FUSSY ALL THE TIME.
