Pretty Plants Even a Black Thumb Couldn’t Kill
From HOME, SWEET HOME

All living things, both human and herbaceous alike, love the sun. Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with sunny spaces to luxuriate in. The Hirts Jade Plant ($4.99 on Amazon.com) can thrive in a low-lit area, so even if you live on the dark side of the moon, this beauty is guaranteed to grow!

Post a CommentI love the peace lily. Think i might give it a try. I’ve had an orchid plant for some time now but its starting to look a little sick… don’t know why but i’m still working on it… hope it doesn’t die because it’s so beautiful when it blooms.
I have a great green thumb but since I relocated i have not bought one plant to spruce up my place. I will be purchasing the peace lily this week, def needed in my place right now

I LOVE plants. For some reason, I just can’t keep them alive. I really don’t want artificial plants either. I Jade plant is one I’ve always liked since I was a kid. I should probably buy one now since two 1 of 2 plants is on it’s death bed.
I’ve killed cactus , even hostas, but I keep trying… last year, my daughter (aged 8 at the time) wanted to start some seedlings & from them came beautiful flowers & even some (small, but edible) bell peppers…she had the magic touch & only allowed me to water them every now & then, so we both got to enjoy some nice plants all summer long. We just started some seedlings a couple of weeks ago, so will see what this year brings!
I have always admired the look of plants in a home but only recently started to dress my home with them. My favorite are the “elephant ears”, they grow so beautifully IMO…I now have a few hanging plants (no elephant ears), I haven’t the faintest idea of what they are or how they should be cared for. I’ve just been watering and singing to them, seems to be working. I recently rescured a Majesty Fern from a coworker, repotted it and have been trying a little TLC to nurse it. So far so good, but I have been reading up on the indoor ferns…seems like many do not feel that it is a great plant to keep indoors in NYC! Oh well it was free but I will be purchasing others, maybe home depot again, never thought to look on Amazon so thank you for that Shecky’s!
Will give the Jade a try, seen it a few times and it looks so exotic I was a little intimidated, great review Sheckys
i had an evergreen a few years ago and still couldn’t keep up the maintenance, it died in less than a year
They all look so pretty….I am sooooo not good with plants.
I heard this plant is great for small apts to purify the air.
I gave my niece the potted peace lily for her dorm room at college to freshen up the air.
