Celebrity Wedding Dress Disasters

1 2 3 4 5 6

There’s always a buzz surrounding celebrity weddings—from the venue to the guest list, the public needs to know everything. But, of course, it’s the dress we’re all wondering about. With all that money to spend, we know that gown is going to be gorgeous…right? Wrong. Sometimes our beloved stars shock us with their, er…interesting taste (or lack thereof) in the wedding dress department. Your big day isn’t always the best time to get too creative. Sometimes simple and traditional just works and, after seeing these wedding gown shockers, I think you’ll agree.

-Maureen Meekins

Jada, Jada, Jada. What are you doing in that dress? This frock actually took away from Jada’s natural beauty when she tied the knot with Will Smith on New Year’s Eve 1997, and made her seem like she was stuck in the era of Hester Prynne. Covered from head to toe in a Badgley Mischka gown that left no wiggle room, it’s a wonder she’s not still stuck in this thing.

Gwen’s dress was stunning, when making the comment of having color in your gown you need to realize that 2004-2007 was huge on having color in your gown. Alfred Angelo made a killing on his white and colored gowns. She was just a couple years early.. MAYBE, SHE started the trend?!?!

I always loved Gwen’s dress! It’s very her, for one thing, and the gradual white-to-pink was just so lovely.

I also recall reading that Celine’s headpiece weighed TWENTY pounds, and that she had a severe headache throughout the whole event, but she “did it for Rene.” Ooooookay! No thanks, says I. ;-)

Celebrity Wedding Dress Disasters? How about Bad Blog Disasters? Talk about grasping-for-straws… Jada Pinkett, Celine Dion, Gwen Stefani, Marilyn Monroe… four out of your six examples were all appropriately dressed for what the time and occasion dictated. Even Pam Anderson wasn’t so bad in that at least it was whimsical and not all about the event but rather about the guy (even if it didn’t work out in the end). And while Britney Spears has never been a tastemaker, you didn’t even show a photo of her in her dress on her actual wedding day. File this piece under… FAIL!

The worst is definitely Pam’s. That’s just tacky and tasteless. Britney’s is a close second.

On this day it is your choice good, bad and indifferent. Something only you can laugh about during later years and ask “Why”.
