Fancy Takes on Classic Comfort Foods

Even though we’ve been faced with wacky temps of late, it’s still kinda cold and everyone’s still after wintry comfort foods. But instead of reliving your childhood through a boring ol’ white-bread PB&J, why not up the ante with fancy takes on comforting classics? Sure, some of these stray from that New Year’s Diet you’re on…or not (er, I hope I’m not the only one who’s fallen off the wagon and into a fistful of French fries?!), but c’mon they’re gourmet and fancy. So you can impress people with your kitchen know-how as you stuff your face!

Quesadillas can be so much more than some shredded cheese slapped between a tortilla. Living proof? MyRecipes.com’s Peach and Brie Quesadillas with Lime-Honey Dipping Sauce. Fancy Brie stands in for the savory element, while brown sugar and peaches inject some sweetness. The real kicker here is the sauce—honey, lime juice and lime rinds. Such a departure from salsa and sour cream!

i so love mac n cheese – gourmet kind is my favorite. I didn’t like it as a kid because the box stuff is just not good at all.
