Wardrobe Pieces You Could Wear to Work or After-Hours (Under $50!)

Let’s face it—unless you’re one of those lucky ducks who has President’s Day off, or you’re a teacher, there’s nary a three-day weekend in your company calendar for a while. And with all those career-oriented 2012 resolutions—get a raise, a new job, a promotion—you’ve got to dress the part. That means no more sliding into your desk in that same sloptartty suit you wear…Every. Single. Wednesday. Don’t have the dough to invest in new work digs, you say (that’s what the “raise” resolution is about, duh!!!)? Welp, these pieces are under $50 a pop and will double as wear for weekend errands or getting your sip on come Saturday night. Talk about a job well done!

Detailed, colored blazers aren’t usually office-okay’ed, but Charlotte Russe’s Woven Brown Tuxedo Blazer ($39.99) walks the line just fine with a brownish base and a black collar/cuffs. This topper will look terrif paired with a serious skirt or pants and buttoned up for work, or hangin’ loose with jeans ‘n’ a tank on Friday evening.

I love the blazer and the skirt. I could wear both to the office and then out to happy hour after.

I’m sorry but as a single mommy I’m to cheap. Anything over $20 is probably not happening!

sometimes you have to invest in yourself! the $20 skirt may be cheaper but the $30 may be of better quality and last longer

Good suggestions, the blazer and the heels are my two favorites. My one question is where is this boring office that does not allow color? I love color or at least the option to wear color because it helps people show their personality more.

Not really big on most of those fashions. Didn’t really appeal to my style. But Im sure paired differently or with other pieces in your closet you could get a few cute outfits out of those.

The pumps are cute, i’ll def check out the other hues. I’m so glad you mentioned the wearing of studded red platforms to work. I live in DC & all I see are women & girls wearing stripper shoes to work. Save those for the club. PLEASE!
