Best Books to Keep Up with Your Reading Resolution

1 2 3 4 5

One of those people who resolved to read in 2012, ’cause you haven’t picked up a book since the days of required reading? Fairytales brought you to far-off lands as a child and now, reading a chapter or two can be the perfect way to let go of stress by diving into someone else’s drama-filled life and you might learn something, too! There’s no reason to just watch the movie version of Twilight—sorry, that doesn’t count—when you can take your pick from these cannot-put-down reads that’ll kick your edu-resolution into full gear.

A PILE OF BOOKS BY TV FUNNY-GIRLS

My friend admitted to me that she burst out laughing on a silent, very crowded train while reading Tina Fey’s book, proof that the TV actress can make even a dull evening commute funny. Bossypants ($10.87 on Amazon.com) is the hi-larious autobiography in which the 30 Rock star recollects her entire career from amateur comedian to Sarah Palin impersonator (only for SNL, of course).

A few more funny books by funny women came out this past year, like Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) ($16.50 on Amazon.com) by The Office’s Mindy Kaling, The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee ($10.03 on Amazon.com) by SNL alum Sarah Silverman and Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me ($15.92 on Amazon.com) featuring anecdotes about the E! show host. And I just can’t resist anything Ellen-related, especially her new book Seriously…I’m Kidding ($13.49 on Amazon.com). Add all of these to your queue and you’ll be LOLing 24/7.
