Say No to Toxic Habits in the New Year

1 2 3 4 5

Nowadays, we often put up with people or activities that are just not good for us. We say yes to the awful speed-dating sessions, overly processed food and that extra shot at the bar. Here are tips for how to put your well-being first and just say no, for good this year!

-Jasmine Frazier

Say no to a bad relationship. There’s almost nothing worse for a woman’s health than being in a terrible twosome. The bad vibes this person is sending will occupy both your heart and brain, and cause you major stress. When something like this happens, have the strength to walk away and cease communication.

If the problem is going as far as emotional or physical abuse, plan a safe way to escape, now! Call a supportive friend or family member to stay with for a few days if you need to. See one Staffer’s true story about an abusive relationship>

I dont think I’ll ever “read the label of everything” i buy. I just try to stay away from anything packaged.

After reading all five habits, I realized I’m on the right track! Got rid of the loser in 2010, have substantially reduced my alcohol intake, got rid of a few negative folks that weren’t necessary to keep around, have been eating organic foods & am starting to eat Gluten Free foods (and have lost about 9 pounds without exercise), and am obsessed with recycling. Thank you Jesus!!

It takes time. I have been a work in progress for about 3 years now. Establishing healthy habits hasn’t occurred overnight but once it happens you won’t even notice. I only realized how good I have been doing because I read this article. You can do it!!

Good suggestions. I’m going to incorporate all 5. #3 is my important focus because if I slip in this area, I slip in the other areas.

#5 – I’m pretty good about that already. I’ll continue that practice in 2012.

#4 – good one. I’m going to try to eat more natural foods this year, less processed.

#2 – gotten rid of most toxic friends already. just have one left who can go into these really negative bouts. But when she’s not like that, it’s fun to go places with her. Trying to help her not be like that. I hope she can change.

I got rid of the toxic friends in 2009. In reference to your friend. She probably feels comfortable talking to you and possibly you may be her sounding board. If she has some deep issuse maybe suggest a counselor. Everyone is not going to be possitive all of the time. Life happens sometimes
