Top Hairstyles of 2011 (That You Can Try, Too)

1 2 3 4 5 6

Wish you could get the glam hairstyles celebs wore this year (without enlisting the stylist army that goes along with ‘em)? Stylist to the stars Natasha Sunshine to the rescue with the best six celeb-rocked ‘dos of the year, just in time for your big New Year’s Eve bash! You’re welcome.

1. Undone Waves: Everywhere we looked on the red carpet, we found waves in 2011! Check out Kate Hudson’s beachy look above as a perfect example. What’s the difference from the usual curls? A little less polish. A little less perfect. A little more lived in.

To get the look, set hair using a curling iron; wrap some sections in a spiral pattern and roll some up in the iron to look like an old-fashioned curl. The blended style will give your curls a more lived-in feel. Run your fingers through the final curls to blend, then mist with a spray shine like Pureology’s Shine Max ($39 on JoyBeauty.com).

I need to do something dramatic and different for my hair while I still work at home. Any suggestions for a round face Asian? My hair is pretty fine and stick straight. I’m thinking bangs and a panel of purple or some dramatic color aside from my natural.
