First-Footing

A funny tradition—and one that I really wouldn’t mind participating in—is the European one of first-footing. Apparently, the first person to step into your house after midnight on New Year’s should be a tall, dark haired man! He should bring you bread and coal, ensuring that you don’t go without food and warmth this year. What a great way to celebrate—especially if you’re a single lady!

First-footing – I could use like a Ryan Reynolds or Ryan Gosling type coming on over. Yummy.

I never really got into parades. I don’t think they are that interesting. I’d rather be doing something else.

pass on that scary tradition. Leave that for Halloween only. I don’t like that scary stuff. Poor little kids oversees.
