6 International Holiday Traditions We Should Celebrate Here

1 2 3 4 5 6

With the holidays super-close (yikes! I’ve GOT to finish my shopping!), many people are partaking in their usual traditions—attending parties, baking, listening to and/or singing holiday tunes, etc. However, the US isn’t the only place where these holidays are celebrated! There are traditions worldwide that I wish would make an appearance in our country. Here are six awesome ones that you may want to start doing!

-Samantha Sutton

Bûche de Noël

Bûche de Noël is a traditional Christmas dessert served in countries such as France, Belgium, Canada, Lebanon and Vietnam. Usually made with Génoise or other sponge cake, it is assembled to look like a Yule Log.

This year, why not stand out from the usual holiday cookie crowd and try your hand at baking this masterpiece? If you succeed, you’re sure to impress friends and family alike! Did I mention that it’s yummy?

I never really got into parades. I don’t think they are that interesting. I’d rather be doing something else.

pass on that scary tradition. Leave that for Halloween only. I don’t like that scary stuff. Poor little kids oversees.
