Sloppy Holiday Party Foods to Avoid—and What to Eat Instead
You know the drill: You’re lookin’ good in your holiday digs, flirting with a cute guy and chatting up guests. Then, without noticing, you drop a little bit of food on your blouse and the rest of the night the only pick-up line you hear is, “Hey, I think you’ve got something on your shirt.”
Whether you’re an invitee or a hostess this holiday season, steer clear of these potentially stain-causing hors d’oeuvres (and drinks!) and opt for neater but still-delish fare instead. You’ll spend less time wiping up spills and more time schmoozing with your friend’s hot cousin.

AVOID: MESSY FINGER FOODS

Buffalo wings smell amazing, but one bite can cause more than one faux pas: orange sauce on your cream-colored top, gunk around your mouth (bye-bye perfect lipstick shade) and dirty fingers.
Go for a no-touch appetizer that you can snack on without looking like a caveman, such as EatingWell’s Oven-Fried Chicken on a Stick. Depending on your klutz-status, you may or may not want to dip ‘em in the recipe’s honey mustard sauce—they’re delish with or without!

Post a CommentI think of messy foods at parties as a challange. Who will emerge victorious? Me or the delicious buffalo wing I’m devouring?

Messy foods are yummy but def something I try to avoid eating when at an event since I’m clumsy.
I love wings!
I usually avoid anything with lots of white powdered suger. That gets all over your sweater.

#3 I have a co-worker who is lebanese and his wife makes the best hummus I have ever tasted.
#2 – I don’t really like fondue that much so not a problem for me
