The months of November and December are supposed to be joyous times—getting together with family and friends and going to parties—but let’s face it; the pressure is on. What to get who, what to wear, should I invite my new love interest home for the holidays?

How can we stop this madness? I know it sounds counterproductive, but take a breather by throwing a (relaxing!) holiday party of your own! This way you can be in control and go as all-out or laid-back as you’d like.

Here are some initial ideas:

Give each other facials, manicures and other beauty treatments while cooking your favorite foods and enjoying cocktails as you share holiday family stories and strategies for getting through this season…it is a time for renewing and strengthening the bonds!
