5 Really Last-Minute Halloween Costumes
Yikes! Halloween is Monday, but I’m sure you’re getting some serious partying in this weekend. If you’ve been too busy to get a costume (or just got invited to yet ANOTHER celebration and the one you wore last night won’t do), fear not! Here are some last-minute ideas that can be easily put together with stuff you have, before you can say BOO!
A Football Player: Just grab your favorite jersey (or borrow one from your boyf or a friend), pair it with a pair of shorts and draw some black lines under your eyes using eyeliner. This costume is literally that simple. Looking for something a bit flirtier? Throw on some knee highs for a sorta-sexy style.
Nerd: Another simple option you can throw together in a jiff is a nerd. For this costume, wear a button-down shirt with a skirt or shorts. Again, knee-highs would add a bit more to the look, but aren’t necessary. The last step is the most important: nerd glasses. Wear a pair if you’ve got ‘em but if not, just pop the frames out of some old sunnies and you’re good to go!
A Hard-Workin’ Mechanic/Handyman: I’ve seen a few girls pull this costume off, so I know it can be done! Just grab an old white tank top and rub dirt/grease/makeup/anything you can find on it so it looks like you have been working hard all day. Pair this with cut-up jeans or jorts. Every handyman needs a tool belt, but if you don’t have one, just wrap a regular old belt around you. The final touch is tools—a hammer, a wrench, a screwdriver—basically anything you can find that will stay tucked in the belt while you party.
Post-Break-Up Girl: We’ve all been there before, so looking like a wreck after a break-up is easy! Here’s what you do: throw on some sweats, put your hair in a messy bun, and make sure it looks like your makeup has run all down your face (you were “crying,” obvs). Carry around a torn-up picture of you and a boy, and an issue of Cosmo for added effect. The best part? You can eat all the candy you want since you’re mourning!
A Baby: A favorite amongst middle and high school girls who feel “too cool” to really dress up, a baby costume is sooo easy to put together! All you’ll need? Patterned pajamas and a stuffed animal. Wear your hair in pigtails, and voila!
