Faves/Fails from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

For those of you who want to flash-forward to next year’s summer, the Spring/Summer installment of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is the perfect answer. Sure, we may be settling into sweaters and booties, but there’s no better cure for the seasonal sads than seeing what warm-weather trends we’ve got to look forward to. But, for every great style we’re excited about, there’s always a total doozy that makes us want to huddle in our wintry houndstooth till we overheat. Read on for my faves/fails from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and share your opinion by voting each trend as a fave or fail!

NEUTRAL + BRIGHT MIX: I’m not usually a neutral enthusiast—I think they look washed out and absolutely blah, especially when you’re supposed to be celebrating the vivacity of spring and summer. My stomach sank when I first saw all the muted hues…until I saw sparks and splashes of fun limes, tangerines, salmons and reds.

This trend was pretty widespread, but I noticed it particularly at Lela Rose (left) and Jill Stuart (center). Loved the shots of lime that Christian Siriano (right) infused, too.

The verdict: I don’t usually like neutrals, as stated, but I adore the colorful updates that many designers used! FAVE

The only winner out of the group was the Christian Siriano dress. I would like to see more white for the spring and summer 2012.

Next year fashion week should include petite models!

not into the standout waist..personally i have wide hips so that would not help at all…but i just think its not something realistic..i mean its not relatable to regular people only to those walking down red carpets…
