Faves/Fails from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
For those of you who want to flash-forward to next year’s summer, the Spring/Summer installment of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is the perfect answer. Sure, we may be settling into sweaters and booties, but there’s no better cure for the seasonal sads than seeing what warm-weather trends we’ve got to look forward to. But, for every great style we’re excited about, there’s always a total doozy that makes us want to huddle in our wintry houndstooth till we overheat. Read on for my faves/fails from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and share your opinion by voting each trend as a fave or fail!

NEUTRAL + BRIGHT MIX: I’m not usually a neutral enthusiast—I think they look washed out and absolutely blah, especially when you’re supposed to be celebrating the vivacity of spring and summer. My stomach sank when I first saw all the muted hues…until I saw sparks and splashes of fun limes, tangerines, salmons and reds.
This trend was pretty widespread, but I noticed it particularly at Lela Rose (left) and Jill Stuart (center). Loved the shots of lime that Christian Siriano (right) infused, too.
The verdict: I don’t usually like neutrals, as stated, but I adore the colorful updates that many designers used! FAVE

Post a CommentOh wow- just noticed the tory burch dress! Stunning- simple flair, long and classy.
Alexander Wang is really a new fave of mine. I just bought a pair of his boots which I simply adore!
neutral/bright mix is such a fab look! I need to get out of my dark colors anyway and brighten up my fall line!
Loving the Christian Siriano dress- when will there be a plus size line?
Love the Christian Siriano dress! Love the girlie looks, but the athletic look and greasy hair have to go!
christian siriano is the only one pulling the pretty factor with the dress
The only winner out of the group was the Christian Siriano dress. I would like to see more white for the spring and summer 2012.
Next year fashion week should include petite models!
Love retro prints
Love love love…brings back the girly look
very girlie
I never understood how trends are predicted so far in advance. don’t tell me what I should be wearing! I’ll tell you!
It may be the up and coming trend but not for me.
They all look nice but nothing I would wear.
yea that greasy look is just gross….please do not go out like that…Thank you!
love prints especially carolina herreras dress!! so pretty!! but mixing prints, ala tory burch, is not quite easy for those who do not have a stylist, like myself lol
Athletic Chic!!! EPIC FAIL!!!!
not into the standout waist..personally i have wide hips so that would not help at all…but i just think its not something realistic..i mean its not relatable to regular people only to those walking down red carpets…
loved the dress by jill stuart and christian siriano!
love the fabrics & colors pop!
I like the Christian Siriano dress! Like that some feminine touches are showing up again. I love being a girl!
