10 “Firsts” On the Way from Casual Dating to a Serious Relationship
If you’ve ever found yourself in the beginning of a new relationship, wondering whether or not it’s getting serious, then you need to know the telltale signs that you’re moving in the right direction for him to put a ring on it (or, er, at least a Facebook official). TheFrisky.com compiled a list of 10 very true “firsts” that you will experience along the road to a serious relationship.
Meeting each other’s friends doesn’t always seem like a big deal, but let’s face it, the next step is meeting the folks (ahhhh!). Even though you may be hanging out casually and having a good time, the fact that he either, a) likes you enough to want to hang out with your crazy gal pals, or b) likes you enough for you to meet his motley crew…and that’s a good sign.
The first time you get a leeeettle too inebriated, followed by the first time you see one another in the hungover, can’t-move, no-makeup (or shave for him), puke-in-your-hair stage, can be embarrassing, but it’s also a milestone. If you both don’t go running for the door while your guy is praying to the toilet gods, then you’re in good shape.
Another stepping stone? That dreaded first fight. It may be stupid (you ate my last granola bar!), but if you get through it and still want to see each other, then you’ve successfully gotten over your first obstacle and are ready for more!
