Bon Appetit: Bastille Day Dishes & Drinks

The French are famous for fromage, and if you’re a real Francophile, you know the best way to enjoy cheese come lunch—Croque Monsieurs. That’s why I love how Epicurious.com takes the typical hot-ham-and-cheese sammie for a spin with their Mushroom Croque Monsieur (originally from Bon Appetit). Crimini mushrooms and shallot, plus Gruyere and Parmesan cheeses, all drizzled with a Mornay sauce (Parmesan, nutmeg, hot pepper sauce, amongst other ingredients) on buttery bread…j’adore.

I’ve never celebrated Bastille Day, but I’d love to try my hand at a Crepe Cake. I wonder if there’s any way to make it gluten-free…
