Though she started out as 1/3 of female R&B group Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé has had no trouble at all making a name for herself as an individual. A talented soloist, she has also taken the acting and fashion worlds by storm, receiving two Golden Globe nominations for her role in Dreamgirls and debuting her lines, House of Deréon and Sasha Fierce for Deréon, to high praise.
She currently has an astounding 16 Grammy Awards, 13 of which she received as a solo artist, and puts in just as much work outside the studio as she does inside of it. She co-founded the Survivor Foundation that provides post-Katrina relief and is known for her supremely generous philanthropic efforts and donations.
