Summer is officially here as of yesterday, and you know that our 10th birthday means we’re indulging you (and ourselves) with treats and goodies galore! Need another reason to eat ice cream right about now? It’s National Dairy Month and July is National Ice Cream Month, so that icy-cold, ooey-gooey sundae is completely justified. …And what better way to get your fill than from an ice cream truck? See four faves!

Ice cream is already good all by itself, but New York City’s Big Gay Ice Cream Truck takes the goodness to new heights with creative toppings like olive oil and sea salt, Trix cereal, Wasabi pea dust and pumpkin butter, to name a few. Choose your own adventurous creation from the dizzying list of possibilities, or indulge in a fave like the Monday Sundae (Twist Ice Cream teamed with a Nutella Lined Waffle Cone, Dulce de Leche, sea salt and whipped cream).

These are some strange looking ice cream trucks! Certainly not the trucks I use to chase down when I was a child.

I haven’t chased down an ice cream truck since I was a kid, but I might have to start tracking some down now.
I never got ice cream from the ice cream truck because the prices were way marked up. My mom wasn’t into it.
