When budgets are tight, what’s a girl do to make her closet streeeetch? You can make your closet work for you by using items in new ways and doubling their use. Here are six items that you can repurpose now!

Wear a dress as a shirt: Is your closet full of sundresses that only get used on the weekends? Or special occasion dresses that are reserved solely for nighttime events? Don’t let them sit in your closet anymore, because dresses can make great work blouses. Simply layer them under a skirt with enough volume to hide the bottom of the dress, and you’ve suddenly expanded your blouse collection!

    Wearing a brooch as a necklace is a really great idea. Wearing a swimsuit cover-up for day -wear is also. There are some really cute cover-ups this year that would do that perfectly.

    I love these ideas!!! I agree though that wearing a dress under pants maybe very bulky and look all clumpy!

    Great ideas. Some of the dresses might be bulky under the shirts though. They really need to be tight fitting at the top to make it work.

    Good idea. Similar to how I use dresses as skirts. I have a black dress that fits tight at the top and so I don’t like wearing it because my arms are fat and the sleeves are small. So I put a top over it and it looks good because the bottom is a-line.
