Friday the 13th is upon us, bringing with it all kinds of fears, superstitions and bad luck. What to do? Cook up any of these recipes, each featuring a “good luck” food as the main item, and eat up to ward off evil. Lucky for you, these recipes are actually tasty too—unlike any witchy potions you might come across.
Unless you’re hoping to follow in Bella’s footsteps, garlic is probably a good choice—it will ward off vampires and bad suitors at the bar this Friday night. With grilling season coming up, my fave garlic-infused recipe is Paula Deen’s Garlic Grilled Tomatoes on Food Network. The simple combo of ripe red tomatoes, Paula’s House Seasoning, extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, thyme and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is magically delicious.
