Why: The Kentucky Derby is this weekend and whether you live in the South, plan on watching the race on TV or none of the above, a hat is a must-buy to get you in the spirit. Plus, while the hoopla of the Royal Wedding may have died down a bit, hat mania is still in full swing! Most major retailers are selling Derby-apropos hats, but we totally dig this handmade one from Etsy.
The hat is outfitted in linen with a signature Derby-style floppy brim and an oh-so-feminine bow that’s purposely rough around the edges, sure to distinguish you from all those other cap-wearing chicas! Fun, I watched the Kentucky Derby. I was rooting for the woman jockey. If she had won, she would have been the first woman to win. Oh well, maybe next year.
