Head-Turning Hair Accessories

While I’m probably a bit TMI with my personal life, I hide actual things that look messy. If I have a date coming over and I’m afraid he’s going to peek into my room and see some laundry on the floor…I hide it. If there’s a stack of unkempt papers I’m due to go over and they’re creating an eyesore, they go in the closet.

I apply this same theory to my hair. When I’m not writing on Megsmakeup.com or Sheckys.com, I’m interviewing celebs at premieres and parties. Even when the publicist doesn’t want their star to talk to anyone, they’ll chat with me. Why? Because I rock the best hair pieces. The A-Lister can’t help but stop and ask, “What is on your head?” I answer, then get my question in! Genius, right? Here’s how to get the same head-turning hair, even though you’re actually kinda covering your strands up.

Hair pieces and accessories allow me tons of time to pursue other lofty endeavors like applying false eyelashes and smoking out my eyes. What is quicker than a slicked-back bun? That’s right…nothing! No blow out, no tease, no straightening. A true comb-and-go, and you’ll still look like you belong at the ball. With The Derby coming up, I want to turn a few of you Southern belles on to a couture hat designer that designs my red-carpet looks. If you’re looking to stop a stud in his tracks, then Arturo Rios is a must. That bow on my head (pictured above)? Did I wear it? Yes. Did it stop a lot traffic? Yes.

Maybe you’re not ready to hoist a giant bow on top of your head (why not?). If not, no worries. Maybe you’re looking for hair jewels that will get you attention…but not because you’re blocking someone’s view. I asked Lock and Mane’s owner Jackie Ona Cascarano what pieces are must-haves right now.

The head band is cute, but PETA might not like it

I would wear the pony tail holder. I like the feather head band but in reality I don’t think I would wear it.
