Great Group Date Ideas for Spring

No doubt you love one-on-one time with your beau, but sometimes the same old date night can get tired…even when we provide you with fun suggestions to spice it up! Why not get some coupled-up friends together and go on group dates? You’ll get to hang with your man and your gals, and make some new friends while you’re at it!

GET SERVED: A potluck dinner is a fun group activity and perfect for a group date. Have each couple make something (you can assign or leave it up to them) and tell them they must make it together. This means two dates in one: the first lets every individual couple bond in the kitchen, then everyone will share and eat together for date two! If the couples all live within walking distance, make it a progressive meal where you go from home to home eating each course. This way, everybody gets to play host and it will be nice to stroll in the warm weather to come!

TEAM SPIRIT: Most sports require a group effort and getting several couples together for a game is a good idea on a nice day. Play girls versus guys, or randomly pick teams out of a hat so there’s more of an opportunity to bond. Raise the stakes by making the losers pay for dinner post-game. Don’t worry if your sporty skills aren’t up to par, pick a game like bowling or pool that’s more social than it is competitive.

TWO THUMBS UP: Book clubs may seem snoozeworthy, but the concept is actually totally cool. Pick a book, movie, TV show, concert, etc. and read/watch/go with your guy and coupled friends. Afterwards, go out to eat or have a get-together at an abode and discuss! Add wine and appetizers to the mix and you’ve got the recipe for a great night. Hearing everyone’s opinions is sure to keep the conversation going.

FOOD MOOD: Back to food! Pick a yummy element all of you love, say ice cream or cheese, and have each couple bring a different recipe in that category. Up the ante by making their pick have some sort of significance and share stories about each dish when you come together!

MYSTERY (GROUP) DATE: Plan a night out with a group of couples…but don’t share what you have planned! Make it an evening of bar (or restaurant, store, etc.) hopping in your town, where each couple picks a destination without telling the other couples. Make sure you’re all planning in the same hood (if you live in a big city) for a mysterious night where you could discover some hidden gems.

Pot lucks are fun…. but group dates suck. The friend is always ugly! But this way everyone can be able to mingle with other individuals!

    Play battle of the sexes!

I would love to do a treasure hunt type of group date. It’s different and I think It’ll be much fun if you have an active imagination and don’t mind the hunt for odd things.

We like to hold board game/ card nights with about (6) couples. Every couple is responsible for a drink, a snack, or a game, while the host will supply the pizza and wings. The apartment is usually split into (3) sections- the card table , the group game room (for Taboo/ Scattegories/ Apples-to-Apples), and for the less competitive attendees, they are in charge of manning the music/ Television. So even the most anti-social person can’t leave our parties without having a giggle. There’s something for everyone!
