Flower Power for Senior Dogs

1 2 3

Although much of the nation is still coping with cold temperatures, one non-profit organization is focusing on spring’s blossoms and blooms. Flower Power for Senior Dogs, the annual campaign by the Grey Muzzle Organization, is hoping to bring brighter days to homeless dogs nationally. The Grey Muzzle Organization improves the lives of at-risk senior dogs by providing funding and resources to animal shelters, rescue organizations, sanctuaries and other non-profit groups nationwide.

Many dogs are abandoned in their senior years because their caretakers don’t want to take responsibility for the extra care required as part of the natural aging process. In other cases, a well-loved senior dog may become homeless when their senior person enters assisted living, and there is no place else to go. Some old dogs are rescued from a lifetime of abusive or neglectful situations with, finally, a chance to enjoy life in their last few years. This annual campaign offers two ways to help abandoned senior dogs with Flower Power.

This is awesome. I’ve always beena huge animal lover and a huge suported or PAWS Chicago, which is the largest non profit and no kill organization in the midwest. I use to volunteer and loved it there. Put adoption as the first option always!
