Funny Females: 5 Best Comediennes
I’m sick of comedy being portrayed as a “man’s” world. This April Fools’ Day, I’m excited to honor five funny females whose accomplishments are anything but a joke.

Chelsea Handler, your books (Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea; My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands; and Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang) have made me look like an idiot in public. Seriously, I can’t stop laughing whenever I read anything this comedienne pens…and who else could take such a witty spin on a Judy Blume title?
Chelsea has also starred on her own E! late-night talk show, Chelsea Lately, since July 2007, and she recently brought fans a new show, After Lately, which premiered on March 6th. While Chelsea’s work may seem like all fun and games, she’s making major strides for funny females everywhere. Her late-night show includes five female writers on staff, a record breaker for late-night segments, and she was the first female since Roseanne Barr to host the MTV Video Music Awards. She also plays Mrs. Beck in HOP, in theaters today!

Ellen has always been my favorite. I don’t know if she’s funny as in just standup but she is just a wonderful human being. She is so positive and does not judge anyone at all. I love her show and it always makes me smile. Her show is my medicine. Next to her, I freaking love Wanda Sykes. She is hilarious! I like Chelsea handler too.
I absolutely love ALL of them Ellen for ME is a little on the dull side but I would still see her before I would see Dave Chappelle. So in this order Chelsea, Wanda, the girl who was her boyfriends girlfriend, Choy and then Ellen. DC Improv here in DC is where some of the cast of Chelsea Lately’s cast perform so I love that woman-her and her midget.
I don’t really know a lot of women comedians except for Ellen, who I think is okay. I will have to watch out for the rest of them.
Margret Cho is funny……Ellen was so great on her first show and Chelsea is a hoot!
