40 and Fabulous? Enter Now!

If you’re over 40 and fabulous, here’s an opportunity you will not want to miss. Renowned modeling agency Wilhelmina has teamed up with MiracleSuit, Macys, Lycra and Trimwater for their Wilhelmina 40+ Model Search.

The search started on Monday, March 7 in New York City as Dancing With the Stars costume designer Randell Christensen (pictured left with Shecky’s president Claudia Chan) hosted a kick-off luncheon. The contest’s tagline touts the search as one that “…celebrates women ages 40 and over who are confident, beautiful and inspirational.” Essentially, the contest aims at putting the spotlight on women who are 40+ and still feeling and looking fab.

Eligibility is solely based on age and being a U.S. resident, and we encourage all Shecky’s women who fit the bill to enter! Prizes include a modeling contract with Wilhelmina, a style makeover from Randell Christensen, a trip to New York City and so much more. While the prizes are incentive enough, the mission behind the contest—empowering women ages 40 and above—is the real reason to get involved. Entry is open until May 24, so ENTER NOW>

Psst: How cute is the pic of Claudia and Randell?

GIRL TALK TIME: Will you enter this contest? What do you think about models over the age of 40? What age did you feel your sexiest?

When I was younger, I don’t remember knowing any woman who was over 40 who looked and felt healthy and sexy so I set out to beat the odds. Now that I am in my 40′s I have met some amazing woman who want to be an example to the younger generationand show them that the best is yet to be.

This is an awesome event. It is a great thing for women to look great and confident. I think at any age you can be sexy, you just have to feel it.

I am 47 and when I tell people my age they can’t believe that I am over 40. I feel over 40 though when I look in the mirror so maybe I don’t have the confidence I think that I have. I definitely do not feel like I could be a model and I am 5″6 and a size 4….so what’s the matter with me?

Nice idea! I’m glad there is a modeling agency that is willing to book older models.

As the author of 40+ and Fabulous and a woman who has a heart for helping women overcome their fears of aging, I am so happy to see that this show is not just honoring the physical attractiveness of women over 40, but “celebrates women ages 40 and over who are confident, beautiful and inspirational”. Women need relatable images of 40+ women who are rediscovering and reinventing themselves in bold and exciting ways. I will be watching in hopeful expectation that this show will deliver just that!

That is awesome! I’m 24 but I still think that is fantastic. In a society today where everything is based on appearances and youth, this reminds people that you should not let age define beauty or who you are.
