Clean Your Closet, Donate to Charity

1 2 3 4 5

A new year brings with it renewed spirits of giving, charity and starting anew. A new year is also a chance to clean up your space, go through your closets and drawers, and donate items you don’t wear anymore. Besides doing a great deed, you’ll rid yourself of unnecessary clutter, feel great and have room for new clothes!

-Lynden Halpern

I-ELLA

I-ELLA is a platform for fabulous women to sell their fabulous clothing for fabulous prices, so what could make this any more…fabulous? A portion of proceeds go to a charity of the seller’s choosing! Interested in purchasing some new clothing once you’ve purged yourself of your old belongings? Sellers may include celebrities and other notable women (like Shecky’s president Claudia Chan!), so your purchase will feel even more fabulous, if that’s possible!

I have a co-worker that feeds and cloth the homeless. Her and her family go out in the streets once a month. I try to give her something every month.

If you are from the PA area Fairy Godmothers is a wonderful organization! They accept your donated clothes in the form of formal gowns & dresses, accessories (jewelry, bags, shaws, etc.), unused make-up, and dress shoes & they are sold for $5 to underprivileged teen girls who can’t afford dresses for their High school Proms….

My mother, sister, 11 year old niece, and I did a closet spurge. We had about 6 + bags full of clothes, shoes, and yes purses. I even gave books and candle holders away that were collecting dust. I feel so much lighter

Donate, Donate, Donate – Church, Homeless shelters – how many women are out there trying to make it in jeans and t-shirts. No Coats etc.

I also doante to Dress for Success – old suits. Also my local Church – who’s DONATION closet are so full they made me seek other locations.

I am an admitted “Clothes Horse” so I have to purge or I’ll be on one of those Hoarders Reality TV shows.

Dont’ forget the Men’s clothes – women doante much more readily then men – and Men’s Shelters are always in need.

Whenever I clean out my closet, I always give them to a local church who then gives them to people who are in need for free! I love the fact they aren’t charging people, and it makes me feel good knowing that I helped someone out. I also donate my kids clothes to this place too…

  • Just curious:

Do you get money for selling your clothes on this site? Hope so because it’s super easy to just drop them off at good will or salvation army and 100% of the sales go to the charity if you are really feeling charitable. Earning a (decent) percentage of the sale is the only thing that would make it worth it to set up the account, photograph/describe each item, and ship them. Easier to just donate direct.
