Love Your Curves Like Mae West
From Claudia’s resolution to better her body with Sheila Kelley’s S Factor this year, to any of our exercise articles, you know how important self-love and being healthy is here at Shecky’s. And as many of you also know, Mae West was an early 20th century screen siren who was full of sass and not afraid to speak up about her curves.
That’s why we’re honoring one of Mae West’s famous quotes this week: “Curve: The loveliest distance between two points.” So, no matter how much weight you’ve resolved to lose or how many hours you would like to spend at the gym this year, always embrace those womanly curves! Now we’re wondering if Mae’s quote inspired Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps,” a song very obviously about…curves (“lovely lady lumps”).
GIRL TALK TIME: What does this quote mean to you? How are you embracing and loving your body this year?

Post a CommentI was always THICK ,nice round butt lovely legs wide hips im loving me even more the older i get. im 31 and really sexy.
This quote means I’m beautiful everyday!
I’m 13 years old with big boobs, thick thighs, wide hips, and a big butt. I used to think my curves made me fat because I didn’t look like a stick, like the rest of the girls at my school. I always wore sweatshirts and baggy jeans, which made me look bigger. Then I started to embrace my curves and now the boys at my school complement me on them. I’m not saying that I go to school wearing tight clothes and letting everything hang out, but I’m not hiding underneath baggy clothes either. I don’t want to look like a Victoria Secret model anymore. I’m proud of my curves!
I agree with her comment, curves are a beautiful sexy thing but they tend to get lost with society’s disgustingly skinny version of whats portrayed to be a “good look”
Before having my girls, I was really skinny…then, after they were born, I was left with curves that I had never had before…at first, it was hard for me…but now, I have learned to embrace them….I have started running on the treadmill, but I have also come to the conclusion that they may never fully go away, and I am at peace with that…this quote makes me feel better about it also.
Great positive words!
I’m on the thinner side, but what curves I do have, I love them.
