Whether you’ve known her since birth or you were long-lost and rekindled recently, there’s something about a family BFF withstanding relative drama that really says something. Whether she’s your mom, aunt, daughter, cousin or sister, you couldn’t have picked a better person to be related to!

SHE is…my daughter, and a year ago lost her husband after 15 months of marriage. They were high school sweethearts. She has been an inspiration not only to me and the rest of the family, but she is also a high school psychologist that helps others with special needs.

SHE is…my best family girlfriend and my younger sister. She is very loving, caring, and is always there for me and my family. I speak to her at least four times a day. We spend a lot of time together. We have attended Shecky’s in Philadelphia together since 2009. We shop and always look for things that need improving in our homes or ourselves. Because she is disabled, she is always home and has become a second mother to my two sons. She picks them up from school for me when they are sick so I don’t have to leave work. She’ll take them to doctor appointments so I don’t have to take time off from work. We laugh and cry together. There are times when I can read her thoughts. I am truly blessed to have her as my sister. I don’t know what I would do without her.

SHE is…the most amazing daughter and friend I have! She keeps me laughing with her sense of humor and she is always there for me. We shop together, chat on phone, play on Facebook together…. We have a relationship that goes far beyond the mother/daughter relationship! I was 16 when I had her, and she has been my best friend from the very beginning. There are no rules to our relationship, we are free to say and laugh about anything, no subject is taboo for us! She is truly awesome, and she deserves an award for how great she is!
