What Are Your 2011 Resolutions?

A brand-new start in 2011 is only two days away. But before we at Shecky’s could make our resolutions for the stroke of midnight this Saturday, we took a look back at what we said we’d do in 2010…and if we’d successfully accomplished those items or not. See our resolutions, past and future (almost present), then share yours.

What Was/Were Your 2010 Resolution(s)?: I resolved to be more productive and I can safely say I failed pretty miserably at that, mostly because I made a lot of excuses (see 2011 resolution below)….

What Is/Are Your 2011 Resolution(s)?: To stop making excuses. Even though there’s always a reason I’m late, or that I messed something up, 2011 is my year to take accountability for my mistakes and stop blame-shifting.

What Was/Were Your 2010 Resolution(s)?: To move to New York City with a job and ditch all the douchebags I was dating for one great guy. I successfully moved to NYC and have a great job, and my boyfriend drove for six hours (the trip was supposed to take an hour and 15) to see me in Sunday’s blizzard. If that ain’t love….

What Is/Are Your 2011 Resolution(s)?: To work on my mental health. From Web MD-ing myself because I’m 100% certain that I’ve come down with a rare disease, to obsessing over a measly line in an email, it’s not worth it. Also, I want to watch more reality TV. Hey—it’s a great de-stresser.

What Was/Were Your 2010 Resolution(s)?: I successfully ditched some of the negative people in my life.

What Is/Are Your 2011 Resolution(s)?: To be brave. I’ve gained a lot of confidence and become much more outgoing than I once was, but I still have overwhelming fears of putting myself out there that I want to get over!

What Was/Were Your 2010 Resolution(s)?: My New Year’s resolution for 2010 was to keep in touch with my family by calling or visiting them whenever possible. I can proudly say that I stayed true to this goal and I know that those special calls were really appreciated.

What Is/Are Your 2011 Resolution(s)?: Travel as much as I can! I also want to keep track of where I visit by stopping to document my surroundings. So many times I visit a new place and I want to recommend a certain spot to a friend, but I can’t remember the name or exactly where it was.

What Was/Were Your 2010 Resolution(s)?: My resolution last year was to quit smoking and I actually did it.

What Is/Are Your 2011 Resolution(s)?: To lose 20-30 pounds.

And there are the ones that are always on our lists (love when it involves being a haute hostess!):

Every year I make resolutions that vary from financial goals to something more abstract like being a good aunt. One goal I continually put on my list is to always make my home an open place to host family and friends for meals and visits. I am proud that this has been an ongoing part of my resolutions with much success. My guests regularly remark how inviting and comfortable my home is and no one ever says “no” when I invite them over for a meal!

GIRL TALK TIME: What were your resolutions in 2011? Did you accomplish your goals? What’s on your to-do list for 2011?

I hate to use the word resloutions, so i’ll say for 2011 I’m committing myself to having a little life outside of work and my kids also work towards loosing a few pounds and toning up. I let the mother and provider side of me cusume me in 2010 so I’ll be rock wall climbing, wine tasting, belly dancing, painting, taking in plays, and so much more after all this a spa visit will be a must. Happy New Year and good luck to all in 2011.

    Resolutions are for sissies!

Ha no really tho I dont make resolutions because I feel a lot of people just set themselves up for failure. I dont think people should do something just because it’s a new year. If you want to change something, just do it. You dont need to use new years as a reason.

2011 resolutions are to get physically fit. Been couch potatoing it too much in 2010. Need to get fit again so I can do more things & have more stamina and energy for the people and activities that I love. Another resolution will be to spend more time having fun and less time stressing over work.
