Oohilove: How to Get (REAL!) Chanel for Cheap
It’s a girl’s secret weapon to luxury brand shopping—sites that do incremental bidding. I wouldn’t be surprised if celebrities have their assistants up at night bidding on the latest Christian Louboutin shoes or the new Marc Jacobs hobo bag. But now, Shecky’s girls can be in-the-know for real steals.
The first site I came across was Quibids, a brilliant company where you can buy products for a couple of dollars…or even cents. I found it captivating watching a 40” LCD Flat Screen TV go for $11.64 or a set of Callaway Diablo Edge Golf Clubs sell for $2.44. The money makes sense; it’s a win-won for both. The website charges a tiny micro fee for bidding, once you bid, even if you don’t win, you still “pay to play.” These pay to play sites, when done well, can be like winning the lottery if you get the hang of it.
But let’s face it: we’re girls and when we think about deals or bargains, we think Tiffany’s, Chanel and Gucci. That said, I’m pretty sure Oohilove fell from heaven (er, actually Palo Alto). It features the same bidding concept but focuses on authentic luxury accessories.
Recently, I was on eBay about to buy a gorgeous Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy for $300, which I thought was a fantastic price as the description noted the “tags are still on it.” I emailed the seller to double check its authenticity (Shecky’s girls do not buy fakes!) and never heard back. I had to go through some rigmarole and fill out a form to rescind my offer—turns out it’s quite common to get a lemon on eBay. Oohilove guarantees all of their items are the real thing, so you don’t have to worry or wonder about whether something is a phony. Upon purchase, each item comes with certification of authenticity and its original packaging.
At Oohilove, all auctions feature no reserve, a $0 start, and bids that cost just 99 cents each. So get geek savvy, get out of the stores, get online…and get some Tiffany pearl earrings for $1.74!

Post a CommentThese kind of sites make me nervous.
thanks for the info i never knew….
cool, will check it out
there’s also the site called bigdeal.com
never used…but will check out
It’s a scam ladies…dont fall for it! They got my money, logged me out of my acct and told me that the email I gave was NOT assigned to an acct so i could not log back in. I tried calling and got to an “outbound call center” having NOTHING to do with the company and sent an email to them to which I have yet to receive a response. I reported this to my bank and they are closing my acct as this sounds A LOT like fraud! BEWARE!
Which one did you try cause I checked out the websites… Didn’t make an account but the deals sound really good… almost too good to be true…
I will check this, pretty cool!!!
i dont like to bid on anything, i hate being outbid, id rather flat out just buy it and i know its mine, but im still gonna look lol
omg soo cool! it seriously is a good deal! Economically it makes more sense to buy the larger packs of bids on quibid.com even if it costs a lot. I will definitely be using this site, often!
Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
yeah, love this website – thanks Terra! I actually came across Oohilove two weeks ago when a friend told me all about it after she won a new Gucci handbag and saved something ridiculous like 80%!!! Definitely a site to add to my favorites.
I haven’t used any of those websites.
Honestly I’ve always been a liitle nervous about ordering anything online. I think I prefer physically walking into the stores and touching it and feeling it. But if I can get it for a fraction of what it’s going for then its worth the shot of trying it at least once. Right :-/?
I totally agree with you!
I’ll have to check these out!
I wouldn’t trust these sites. They could be very fell done fakes.
I live Gilt, Haute Look, Beyond the Rack, and Ideeli! Check them out!
i wouldn’t really trust those sites
You can also check consignment shops in upscale neighborhoods and communities–and many of them are paratners with hospitals or other charities. You can often get very good buys on great labels–and you can try stuff on, too!
Love it! But watch out for pay-to-bid sites — some of them are not as upfront as they claim. My husband got burned by one recently that charged him $149 just to bid! Then they would not refund his money, they sent a pre-written response that made a lot of “we state clearly on our website” and “we comply with all laws” jargon. That should tell you how often they have to deal with this kind of error. Not honest business, IMO. Grrr.
i can’t wait to try out these sites!
