Prep Your Feet for Boots and Heels Season
Sigh. We do realize that it’s the first day of September, and time to (reluctantly!) start saying good-bye to summer. Adios white shoes, ciao strappy sandals, sayonara flip-flops. And after spending a few months in comfy kicks, it might be hard to make your feet go back to boots and heels.
Here are a few tips to make sure your feet will experience the joys of autumn, too.

For aches and woes: Have a nice supply of soaks to offer tired feet a little comfort. Calgon Rejuvenating Epsom Salts Lavender Vanilla ($4.59) has all the muscle-loving qualities of a good epsom mixed with the relaxing and calming (…and sweet-smelling!) benefits of lavender.

(Un)Mask the pain: Unlike ones designed for the face, foot masks not only help deep clean, they also relieve soreness and eliminate stinky feet odors. LUSH’s Volcano Mask ($20.95) uses a combination of potatoes, fresh papaya and lemon to keep tootsies happy, relaxed and fresh-smelling.

Scrub away the day: Scrubs are your feet’s best friend. They remove dead cells and, if used frequently, can even help prevent unsightly calluses. Choose a scrub made with multi-purpose ingredients, such as Votre Vu Magnificent Exfoliating Treatment for the Feet ($32), that relies on bamboo to refine the skin. Plus, its peppermint and citrus extracts keep feet clean and hydrated.

Drown dryness in moisture: All those layers of fabric can suck the moisture right out of your tootsies, so make sure you have an ultra-rich foot cream, bursting with moisturizing agents, such as shea butter, coconut oil and vitamin E. Try Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Cream ($9), packed with pure coconut oil, lanolin and vegetable glycerin to ensure hydration right down to your toes.

Pad your shoes: Regardless of how comfortable we ‘say’ those heels are, we all know that they are not ‘that’ comfortable. Bring any shoe to that comfy zone with Foot Petals’ Stiletto Stylist Kit ($36.45 at Shoebuy.com). The multi-purpose pack includes Tip Toes, Heavenly Heelz, Strappy Strips, Killer Kushionz and Sole Stopperz…in other words, relief for every part of your feet.

Looks very soothing.
The Stiletto Stylist Kit sounds GREAT! I will definitely have to check that out. Also girls, you can make a scrub right from your kitchen with sugar and honey. It works wonders and it all natural.
Lush’s Volcano mask is a excellent product for sore feet.
